Lithium-ion batteries catch fire at utility scale. Vanadium flow batteries cost $300–500/kWh and depend on a single Chinese-controlled supply chain. The world needs a safe, cheap, abundant-material grid storage technology.
WiS has developed a membrane-free static zinc–manganese battery — water-based, non-flammable by chemistry, with no pumps or forced electrolyte flow. No thermal runaway, no rare earths, no membrane. Built from commodity chemicals (ZnSO₄, MnO₂) available worldwide at <$5/kg.
